Two main types of complex sentences are considered –compound and complex sentences – along with their structure and the specifics of syntactic relationships between components of a polypredicative structure. The system of conjunctive coordination is analyzed, which was characterized by diversity in both content and form and had at its disposal numerous means of expressing semantic nuances. The main classes of coordinating conjunctions are distinguished: connecting, contrasting, separating, and causal, each of which expressed specific semantic nuances. Additional means of expressing connections between coordinate clauses are studied, in particular fixed and reverse word order, structural parallelism, and inversion, which acted as auxiliary mechanisms for organizing syntactic relations. Particular attention is paid to the means of expressing subordinate relationships, among which asyndetic connection stands out as the most archaic type, and conjunctive connection and correlation as the most developed forms of subordination. The problem of insufficient differentiation between coordinate and subordinate conjunctions in the Old English period is considered, which led to functional homonymy and semantic ambiguity in sentence construction. The polysemy of subordinate conjunctions and their structural classification into simple and complex phrase constructions is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the correlative type of connection and its transformation at the end of the ancient period, when correlative particles were reinterpreted and transformed into full-fledged conjunctions. It has been established that the structure of complex sentences throughout the Old English period showed a steady and distinct tendency towards the gradual improvement and systematization of the syntactic system. Актуальність дослідження зумовлена необхідністю адекватної передачі юридичних термінів у процесі міжкультурної комунікації та значними розбіжностями у розвитку англійської та української термінологічних систем, які зазнають різних впливів. Проаналізовано наукові доробки вітчизняних та зарубіжних дослідників, які розробили теоретичні основи перекладу юридичної термінології та запропонували різноманітні перекладацькі прийоми й трансформації. Висвітлено сучасні підходи до класифікації лексичних, граматичних, семантичних та стилістичних трансформацій у процесі міжмовного перенесення термінологічних одиниць. Виявлено характерні лексико-семантичні особливості текстів міжнародної співпраці: використання власних назв, зокрема топонімів та ергонімів як назв міжнародних угод, установ та організацій; значна кількість латинських термінів; архаїзми з префіксами here- та there-; мовні кліше для забезпечення точності та стандартизації юридичної мови; дублети та триплети як поєднання синонімів для передачі єдиної юридичної концепції. Підкреслено шаблонність і клішованість дискурсу. Систематизовано основні прийоми перекладу термінів: переклад за допомогою лексичного еквівалента, аналогова заміна, експлікація, калькування, транскрибування, транслітерація, модуляція. Детально розглянуто семантичні перекладацькі трансформації: конкретизацію, генералізацію, диференціацію, додавання та опущення, які допомагають зберегти значення термінологічних одиниць за можливої зміни їхньої структури. Визначено комплекс труднощів перекладу термінів права: відсутність аналогів у мові перекладу, багатозначність термінологічних одиниць, контекстуальна залежність перекладу, належність до різних національно-правових систем, відмінності культур країн, проблема передачі правових реалій, вплив латинської мови на формування англійської юридичної термінології, наявність значної кількості скорочень. The need for flexible, accessible, and resilient educational solutions has become increasingly important to sustain teaching and learning despite various institutional, infrastructural, and geographic challenges. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of translating the theoretical potential of MOOCs into practical language teaching, including their use for developing communicative competence, improving teachersʼ digital pedagogy, and enriching foreign language courses through authentic multimedia content, interactive tasks, and self-paced learning modules. The study aims to explore the attitudes of Ukrainian university educators toward the use of MOOCs, identify the factors influencing their adoption, and assess how MOOCs contribute to professional development and their potential for professional development and pedagogical innovation. Ukrainian university educators generally perceive MOOCs positively, valuing their accessibility and flexibility in acquiring new knowledge and enhancing digital competencies, especially amid current geopolitical and infrastructural challenges. From the perspective of language education, MOOCs can be effectively used to support blended learning models, develop studentsʼ receptive and productive language skills, expand exposure to authentic professional discourse, and foster learner autonomy through independent online practice. The study reveals a strong awareness of MOOC platforms and highlights existing challenges related to institutional frameworks and methodological support. Addressing these challenges would allow language teachers to systematically integrate MOOCs into syllabi, align online course outcomes with learning objectives, and use external platforms as a meaningful extension of classroom-based language instruction. Overall, MOOCs present valuable opportunities for international collaboration and skills enhancement, contributing to the modernisation of educational practices. With appropriate support, they could become essential to professional development and curricular innovation, bolstering the resilience and competitiveness of Ukrainian universities.
