In some cases, ancient maps may be the only documents containing geographic data about the studied area. Most of the old maps that refer to the settlements and territories of Galychyna region were published outside of Ukraine, and therefore their correct translation and the most accurate interpretation of descriptions and content are important keys to obtaining high-quality research results.
