The variant of modernization of electric drives of household washing machines with AC single-phase collector motors by using a single-phase inverter to regulate their speed is considered. A model of AC single-phase collector motor with voltage regulation by means of a single-phase inverter in MATLAB Simulink was developed and its comparative research with a widely used variant of voltage regulation by means of two thyristors was carried out. The necessary parameters for the model were proposed to be obtained using the design calculation. The analysis of the basic formulas of the design calculation of the AC single-phase collector motors and the calculation of the washing machine motor were carried out. Comparative analysis of the obtained results for two power supply options allowed us to conclude about a much lower level of current ripple and torque for the power supply option with the inverter and good sinusoidal power supply voltage and armature current. The proposed use of a single-phase inverter will allow to reduce the specific noise when operating the machine in the main washing mode for washing machines based on AC single-phase collector motors. The obtained model allowed to obtain the mechanical characteristics of the modernized drive and to explore the effect of motor inductance on the sinusoidal power supply voltage and armature current.en_US
