Голлінггерста “The Line of Beauty” Authors: Іванченко, Марія Юріївна Abstract: Проблематика сучасного мовознавства характеризується антропоцентризмом, який проектуєся на всі галузі лінгвістичних дослі-джень. У фокусі згаданої парадигми перебуває людина – мовець, а пред-метом дослідження є аналіз мовних явищ як інструментів пізнання та мислення. Прагнення вивчити ментальність представників певної націо-нальної спільноти через мову як феномену культури піднесло когнітивну лінгвістику до пріоритетних напрямів сучасних досліджень. Актуальним залишається аналіз авторського, художнього мовлення, який дозволяє не тільки здійснювати пошук прихованих, опосередкованих смислів а і надає ґрунтовну інформацію про досліджуваний концепт.У романі “The Line of Beauty” А. Голлінггерст описує виклики з якими стикаються англійці у часи правління М. Тетчер. Автор спонукає читача розглянути морально проблематичних персонажів, пасивних і некритичних та відмовляється від власних оціночних суджень, здавалося б, «неприємно-го» життя Ніка та його коханців. У аналізованому творі репрезентовані чотири семантичні зони струк-тури концепту BETRAYAL, а саме “обманювати” (40%), “показувати” (35%), “зраджувати людські стосунки” (15%), “повідомляти” (10%).Найчисельніше представлена семантична зона “зраджувати-обманю-вати” у аналізованому романі. Зокерма, введення в оману, з метою ство-рення хибного враження вербалізується дієсловами із семою “приховува-ти, спотворювати” – to disguise, to mask, to cover; іменниками що містять сему “подоба, наслідування” – simulacra, dummy, parody; ”гра” – show, role, performance; лексемами із семою “фальшивий” – pretended, faslely, to finesse.Семантична зона концепту BETRAYAL “зраджувати-показувати” вер-балізується у романі “The Line of Beauty” за допомогою дієслів та фразе-ологізмів, що містять у своїй структурі сему “виходити назовні” – to leap out, to surface; “виявляти, викривати” – to come out, to reveal, to expose, give away; іменника – self-exposure. 40Зрада стосунків актуалізується як “продавати когось” – to prostitute. Повідомлення таємної інформації у творі верблізується за допомогою слів та фразеологізмів, що містять у свої семантичній структурі семи “роби-ти відомим” – to expose та to give away. Leading scientists consider problems related to the analysis of the morphological structure of terms, the specifics of the terminological units translation. In the field of military terminology, scientists analyze the specifics of certain lexical-semantic groups of concepts in this field, raise problems of classification of English-language military vocabulary, investigate military neologisms, and study the features of the translation of terms in this field.Purpose of the article is to study the peculiarities of the English weapon terms translation into Ukrainian. The research material is the English weapon terms obtained as a result of sampling from professional dictionary. Like no other, technical translation strives for the most accurate and complete transmission of information contained in the original. Translation difficulties often arise not only because of differences in the grammatical structure of languages, but also because of the cultural and historical specificity of the native speaker’s worldview. The responsibility for the correct transmission of the content lies with the translator. Any mistake made during the translation process can distort the content of the message. Correct translation of terms is the key to effective professional communication. Since the basis of a technical text is terms, it is necessary to exclude their incorrect translation.Thus, as a result of the conducted research, it was pointed out that English terms of weapons are in most cases reproduced in Ukrainian by using tracing (47%), the translation technique of explication is somewhat less represented (19%). The translation transformations compression (11%) and inversion (10%) are used almost equally. Generalization (5%) and concretization (4%) are used less often. Description: -- 2026-04-01T00:00:00Z
