dc.description.abstract | On the basis of experimental data, the quality of water in the Western Buh river near the village of Buzhok has been characterized. Majority of water quality indices correspond to the requirements of the Ist and IInd classes of quality of surface waters that are sources of central drinking water supply on the basis of hygienic and environmental criteria. The tested water does not comply with the requirements of the Ist and IInd classes on the basis of ammonium nitrate concentration (0.6 mg/dm3) and value of biological oxygen demand (BOD) (3.26 mg/dm3). Increased concentrations of these pollutants in waters usually are indicative of agricultural character of technogenic impact. Ways of decreasing ammonium nitrate concentration in water have been proposed. | uk |
