Abstract: | The effects of microwaves treatment of an aqueous suspension of clay sorbent bentonite with a model solution of zinc sulfate are studied. The microstructure of the surface of bentonite after sorption cleaning was studied by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive and X-ray phase analysis. It is shown that the microcrystals formed on the surface of the sorbent are complex hydrated zinc polysilicate. A possible mechanism for the formation of crystal nuclei under the action of microwaves is proposed. |
